Uniformed Public Services (Level 1 BTEC Diploma) at Barking and Dagenham College

Course description

This course will give you a solid foundation to enable you develop the skills, qualities and attributes needed for a career in the uniformed services. To prepare you for this type of career we ask that you wear a uniform while studying with us. You will learn about: - discipline - team building - leadership - communicating - personal fitness - land navigation We will also help you to build your CV and teach you how to present yourself at interview. As part of this course you will also continue to develop your English and Maths skills, which need to be at a high standard for this type of career. You will join a programme of outdoor activities designed to test your abilities, determination and response to pressure. This could include: - kayaking - camping and hiking - map reading - climbing and abseiling
