Children's Care, Learning & Development - BTEC L3 Subsidiary Diploma at Glenthorne High School

Course description

The children’s care sector comprises statutory, private and voluntary provision of care services. The sector is one of the biggest employers in the country. This option will allow you to develop background skills and knowledge which will be of use in future early years training or will be relevant to many other careers, such as nursing or social work. You will spend a large part of your course actively engaged in work placement.The National Award consists of five core units: Positive Relationships for Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Positive Environments for Children’s Care, Learning and Development, Promoting Children’s Development, Safeguarding Children and Reflecting on Practice in the Children’s Care, Learning and Development Sector

Entry requirements

BTEC L2 in CCLD ( if taken) Merit, 5 GCSE grades A*- C including English Grade C.

Future opportunities

Must be prepared to commit to regular substantial work placement. Other Level 2 childcare course would be acceptable.
