Performing Arts - Level 2 Diploma at Middlesbrough College

Course description

This course provides students with a good quality introduction to the Performing Arts equipping the student with background theory and performance skills in specialist areas of Performing Arts. The course looks at Dance, Singing and Acting throughout the year. The course is practical and work related.

Course content

You will receive training in subjects such as:- Musical Theatre Performance Acting Skills and Techniques Performing Dance Professional Development in the Performing Arts Industry

Entry requirements

To gain entry to this course you must possess four or more GCSE's at Grade E or above, to include a minimum of a Grade D in English (or an equivalent qualification) or other equivalent qualifications acceptable to the College. You must also undertake a successful interview and audition and also provide a satisfactory reference. For internal progression from Level 1, all elements of the Level 1 programme to be achieved and attendance and performance to be satisfactory. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Assessment

Students will be assessed via assignments and projects, observations of practical work, rehearsals and performance.
