Forestry and Arboriculture - Level 2 at Askham Bryan College

Course description

This course aims to provide a basic understanding of the practical and theoretical elements of forestry and arboriculture. You will make use of the extensive natural resources as well as industry specific equipment in theory and practical sessions.

• Tree identification and tree planting

• Plant science

• Arboricultural machinery

• Chainsaw use

• Tree climbing

• Pruning and felling operations

• Land-based business

• Work experience

• English and maths

Entry requirements

Level 2 Study Programmes:

4 GCSEs at grade 3 (old GCSE grade D) or above to include 2 from English, Maths and Science with at least a grade 2 (old GCSE grade E) in the remaining subject.

Assessment

Your work is assessed throughout the course and will be demonstrated through written and practical assignments.
