Boatbuilding Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Falmouth Marine School

Course description

 Ideal if: you wish to build on your existing knowledge and skills to develop your career prospects You'll need: to be employed within a marine related industry and have completed a level 2 qualification or have relevant experience You'll learn: the principles of boat construction, how to work with wood and fibre-reinforced plastics for marine construction, and safe and effective working in the marine industry Expect: to spend one day a week on campus and select a pathway of units that suit your job You'll love: working in specialist wood and fibre-reinforced plastics workshops You'll go onto: enhanced employment opportunities or university study 

Course content

You will spend one day a week with us on campus building on the skills you developed at level 2 by undertaking complex tasks, such as;

  • Producing and repairing hulls and decks
  • Fitting out of boats

Entry requirements

You must be employed within a marine related industry and have completed a level 2 qualification or have relevant experience.

Future opportunities

On sucessful completion you will have gained the Marine Boatbuilding Diploma Level 3 which will further enhance your promotion prospects and employability.
