Course description

This course provides a solid foundation for both vocationalpractice and academic progression in the health and socialcare sector. You will cover individual needs; human lifespandevelopment; vocational experience in a health & social caresetting; the impact of diet on health; equality, diversity &rights and Functional Skills.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (including English and ideally maths), a successful inteview, and good reference.


Through written assignments, presentationsor role plays. To a large extent, they involverelating theory to practice. This means that theyare not done under exam conditions.

Future opportunities

You can progress onto Level3 courses at out Swale andCanterbury campuses, or intoemployment.

      Canterbury College Sheppey Campus is located within easy walking distance from the train and bus stations. It can be found opposite Tesco and McDonalds. The salon entrance is opposite The Foyer.
