Construction - Plumbing Apprenticeship Level 2 (CON1) at Barnsley College
This course is for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the plumbing and heating industry. If you have an interest in plumbing and heating and would like to develop your career in this area, then a plumbing apprenticeship would be for you. It will provide you with both practical skills and the theory that you need for the industry.
You will study units from the list below which relate to your job role. You will also study:
•Employment, Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) booklet
•Level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths
•Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
•Know how to maintain a safe working environment
•Be able to maintain a safe working environment
•Know how to prepare for carrying out plumbing repairs
•Be able to prepare for carrying out plumbing repairs
•Know how to repair or replace plumbing fittings and wastes
•Be able to repair or replace plumbing fittings and wastes
•Know how to repair or replace sanitary appliances
•Be able to repair or replace sanitary appliances
- Successful completion of Level 2 apprenticeship in Plastering
- You need to be employed within a construction setting or have an employer in this area willing to take you on as an apprentice
You will be assessed by your assessor using a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstrations and assignments. You will be assessed both in college and in your place of work.
