Health and Social Care GCSE at Barr's Hill School and Community College
This course looks at the provision of health and social care in today's society and how clients access this provision. It also covers human development and how clients have different needs at different times in their lives.
Unit 1: Health, Social Care and Children's Services (60%) Written coursework.
This unit will enable candidates to gain knowledge and understanding of the main health, social care and children's service provision available to meet individuals' needs.
Unit 2: Human Growth and Development (40%) Examination.
To provide effective care, workers within health, social care and children's services need to know about the different ways that people grow and develop during their lives. This unit will allow candidates to gain knowledge and understanding of the process of human growth and development and the different factors that can affect individuals.
If you achieve a grade C or above, it is possible for you to progress further on to a Level 3 Health & Social Care course, or other Level 3 qualifications in the areas of health & social care.
