Art A-Level at Christ's College Finchley
The Art department has 3 large general art rooms, a pottery studio and a large darkroom. At A level the Sixth Form have their own studio space in which they can work during their study periods and lessons. After a term of teacher directed work in Year 12, students are given the freedom to choose the direction they wish to take with their specialism. In Year 13 this continues with students choosing the artists they study to help them with their own practical work. Students are always encouraged to take risks, develop lateral thinking skills and be confident independent learners.
Applicants must achieve a minimum average GCSE score of 40 points (where A* counts 58 points, A as 52, B as 46, C as 40, etc). Students who have studied at Btec Level 2 must have achieved a high Merit grade as a minimum. In addition there are GCSE requirements for individual subjects, where they are oversubscribed. Where subjects are oversubscribed, places will be offered to students in rank order of their average point score.
Subject specific requirements
