Dry Lining Level 2 Diploma at LeSoCo

Course description

This course consists of practical tasks combined with theoretical study. Specific units you will study include: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction and Associated Industries; Knowledge of Technical Information, Quantities and Communication with others; and Knowledge of Construction Technology. You will also learn how to Install dry lining encasements, install dry lining partition and Metal Furring Ceiling Systems, finish dry lining joints and apply a range of finish plasters to plasterboard backgrounds.

Entry requirements

Four GSCEs (any subjects) at grades D-E (one of which must be a related subject) - or successful completion of a Level 1 substantial qualification in a related subject - plus an initial assessment that indicates an appropriate level of English and mathematical ability, a satisfactory reference, and a substantial qualification in a related subject.

Future opportunities

This study programme can lead to a several different paths for further education in dry lining. Potential job opportunities include self-employment, joining construction companies and working with local authority maintenance teams.
