Engineering Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship at Basingstoke College of Technology

Course description

This course is designed to aid apprentices to become competent at Level 2 in their chosen Engineering pathway, choices are; Mechanical, Electrical / Electronic and Maintenance.

Course content

This Apprenticeship programme covers a range of practical skills and underpinning knowledge and includes the following components:

1. Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations

2. Level 2 Edexcel Diploma in Engineering

3. Functional Skills in Maths and English (Level 1)

4. Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

5. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths and English. Learners must be employed in the Engineering sector.

Assessment

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations is assessed through practical training and assessment tasks. The Level 2 Edexcel Diploma in Engineering is assessed through the completion of college assignments.

Financial information

If you are aged 16-18, tuition and registration fees are free. 
If you are aged 19 or over, tuition and registration fees are payable at the start of each year of study; please ask for details.
If you are aged 24 or over, you may be eligible for a Student Loan to assist with your fees; please ask for details.
