WHAT DOES THE SUBJECT INCLUDE?

The course consists of the following units:

  • Practical and Theoretical understanding of  Supporting Job Role
  • Practical and Theoretical understanding of Fabrication and Tools
  • Practical and Theoretical understanding of Routine  Maintenance
  • Practical and Theoretical understanding of Remove and Replace Engine Units and Components
  • Practical and Theoretical understanding of Auxiliary Electrical Units and Components
  • Practical and Theoretical understanding of Remove and Replace Chassis Units and Components

You are appointed a Personal Tutor for the duration of the course.

WHAT IS THE STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE?

The course is open to those who have gained a Level 1 Certificate/Diploma or equivalent and wish to progress within the motor industry.

Entry requirements

Students should have completed Level 1 City & Guilds 4290 or equivalent qualifications, or have previous motor vehicle experience

Succesful college interview.

Assessment

Learners will complete on-line assessments (multi-choice questions), practical assessments and observations.

Future opportunities

The City & Guilds Motor Vehicle course will be an excellent stepping-stone to progress onto the City & Guilds 4290 Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Service, Maintenance and Repair.

Alternatively you can use the skills gained on the programme to obtain employment in the motor vehicle industry.

This qualification will allow candidates to enter into employment or to follow further qualifications to Level 3 in their chosen subject.
