Systems and Control at King Charles I School

Course description

This course should give excellent progression from GCSE Electronic Products and preparation for Higher and Further Education. While building on the GCSE Electronic Products knowledge base, it introduces mechanical and pneumatic control systems thus opening up a wide range of possible careers.

The 50% coursework element gives the students the opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in practical design and make projects. The A2 project is chosen by the student, in negotiation with the teacher. The picture shows the launch control system for model rockets designed and built by Ben Jones. Great fun to build but even more fun to test.
