Early Years Educator CACHE Level 3 Certificate and Diploma at Doncaster College
The aim of this qualification is to prepare you to become Early Years Educators, enabling you to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to become qualified Early Years Educators. You will complete a range of units to achieve the qualification. Some units you will cover:
- Child Development, Play and Learning
- Working with Parents and Others in Early Years
- Meeting Children’s Physical Development, Physical Care and Health Needs
- The Early Years Foundation Stage
You will be required to complete three different work placement settings. You will need to complete at least 750 hours work placement over two years to complete your qualification.
- Four GCSE grades Cs and above must include Maths & English
- All applicants must complete a skills review in Maths and English and attend an interview
- Application of DBS
- Uniform must be applied for
This course is based on a portfolio of evidence in which you will demonstrate your competence through work products and observations in the work place. You will be required to complete an externally marked research paper
Foundation Degree e.g. Early Childhood Policy and Practice and Working with Children and Young People.
Successful completion will provide opportunities in careers including Nursery Nurse, Teaching Assistant, Parent/Toddler Group Leader, Child-minder, Nanny, Children's Centre Support Worker, Teaching Assistant, Senior Play worker, Special Educational Needs Worker. After further study you can progress into careers such as Early Years and Primary Teaching - please check additional entry requirements such as GCSEs.
