What will I study at AS Level?

Unit 1: Voices in Speech and Writing

Section A: Essay question on an unseen extract from 20th or 21st Century text.

Section B: One comparative essay question - one unseen extract from 20th and 21st Century and one text from the anthology.

 

Unit 2: Varieties in Language and Literature

Section A: Prose fiction extract essay question on set text.

Section B: Exploring text and theme essay question on set text.

 

What will I study at A Level?

 

Unit 1: Voices in Speech and Writing

Section A: Voices in 20th and 21st Century texts. One comparative essay question – one unseen extract from 20th or 21st Century and one text from the anthology.

Section B: Drama. One extract based question on set text.

 

Unit 2: Varieties in Language and Literature.

 

Unit 3: Investigating and Creating texts.

Entry requirements

CAPS score of 40 plus grade B in both GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature.
