Extended Project Qualification at The Spires College

Course description

Projects are self-driven qualifications giving the freedom and responsibility to select the topics and projects to the candidate. It can be related to a hobby or interest, but it cannot cover any work taught during lessons. Neither can you write about something you already know. The qualification is designed to develop transferable and core skills which will apply to school, an apprenticeship or the work place.You also have to plan and review progress and use appropriate technologies. Units of work required differ depending on which level you take the course atLevel 2:- A research based written report. This should take about 60 hours and be around 2000 words.- A Production Log. This is an on-going document and parts of it will be filled out when you have meetings with your supervisor.- A Presentation. This can take any form, but often candidates use Power Point to show extra details.Level 3:- The completion of a production log and a 5000 word report- The number of words required can be reduced if an item is produced or a DVD of performances etc is submitted.
