ECONOMICS A LEVEL (RPA) at Richmond Park Academy - RPA
Students should have a genuine interest in major economic and political issues. Economics is an extremely highly-regarded and tough discipline which invites you to interpret the world around you in a completely new way.
The course will help you to develop a new framework of analysis which will give you a very structured method of making and justifying decisions. You will still make up your own mind and form your own opinions, but the study of economics will allow you to defend them with well-constructed arguments. Over the next two years, you will study three units and sit three examinations that form your AQA A Level Economics qualification. The first of these units will look at how individuals and firms behave on a small scale; how they make decisions and what the effects of these decisions are. The second unit looks at the bigger picture; how is the UK economy performing overall and what are we actually trying to achieve?
