Professional Cookery City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in at Brooklands College

Course description

This course builds on knowledge gained at level 2 or is suitable for those with relevant work experience, wishing to progress onto a more complex level. You can study either patisserie or kitchen and larder skills.

Alongside this course you will also study for an additional level 2 Certificate in Food and Beverage Service, which will allow you to advance the skills required to work in the food service industry.

This course is for students who are already working in a relevant role in the catering industry and want to improve their skills.

Entry requirements

You will need to have studied a Level 2 Diploma or NVQ in Professional Cookery and it is strongly advised that you have at least one year’s industry experience.  Relevant industry experience will be discussed at the interview stage of application.

Assessment

A selection of practical assessments, externally set assignments and online multiple choice tests.

Financial information

It is recommended that you purchase appropriate books, clothing and equipment for you to carry out the course, details of which will be provided before the start of the course.  Students are allocated a certain amount of free printing, after which a small fee will be incurred.

Future opportunities

This course could lead to further study at higher education and/or provide you with the necessary skills to work within the industry. Typical jobs in the catering industry could include Chef de Partie, Restaurant Bar or Waiting Staff.
