Music A Level at The Piggott School
Music is primarily a performing art and the quality and rate of learning is very dependent on the student’s experience in solo and ensemble music making. Therefore students should get involved in as many different music activities as possible in and out of school. Those who belong to a variety of choirs and ensembles have a distinct ad vantage over those who do not, and final grades are clearly affected by the number of music activities students take part in.
It is recommended that students have achieved either a grade B at GCSE or a Grade 5 Associated Board Examinations certificate or equivalent before embarking on the course. Please discuss individual cases with the Head of Music if you are in any doubt.
