Hairdressing (Women's and Men's) - Level 2 Diploma at Chichester College
Giving you the chance to learn with celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford, this course offers you many training and industry advantages as you explore the Lee Stafford techniques and tricks along with our outstanding teaching team. This fast moving, imaginative and fun course will help you learn how to master top styling, cutting and colouring techniques, in our fully equipped Lee Stafford Education salon.
Course units 10 core units : Follow Health and Safety Client consultation Shampoo and Condition Hair Promotional products and services Cut women’s hair Cut Gents hair Style men’s hair Colour and lighten hair The Art of dressing hair Create an image based on a theme GCSE/Functional Skills Extra qualifications short courses available If you are aged 16-18 you will follow a study programme consisting of your main qualification, English and Maths, Enterprise and Enrichment.
The delivery of this course will be a combination of work shop demonstrations, practical sessions, structured teaching, directed study, class discussions, research and lectures. External guest speakers are invited in through out the year.
Aged 16 or over before the 1st September in year of entry, you will need 3 GCSE at D or above including English. A current Level 1 Hair or Beauty qualification and completed functional skills . You will need to pass a trade test and an interview on the completion of Level 1.
Practical Skills will be on going assessment through observation and feedback. Practical skills are graded pass, merit and distinction. Theory knowledge will be assessed through a variety of assessments such as written assignments, presentations and on line exams for each unit .
