GCSE English Re-sit at Raine's Foundation School

Course description

This course will appeal to students who:

  • Want to apply to University and need a ‘C’ in English
  • Have not yet done a GCSE.

What will I study?

GCSE English (AQA)

Coursework: Original Writing, Shakespeare, Pre 1914 Prose, Media Unit and Speaking and Listening (40% of total mark).

Exam: Poems from Different Cultures (Anthology) and preparation for Paper 1 and Paper 2 (60% of total mark). This will be for entry in November for those who took the exam in the previous Summer. Otherwise it will be for May the following year because coursework will need to be re-done.

Entry requirements

Four GCSE’s at Grade D and a positive Progress File and school reference.
