Beauty Therapy Intermediate and Advanced Apprenticeships at Grimsby Institute

Course description

This Apprenticeship is about improving people’s wellbeing by making them look and feel better. Beauty Therapy covers a range of different treatments, from facials and make-up to waxing. On this Apprenticeship you will work closely with clients and need the ability to put them at ease, and generally be pleasant and personable.

As a Beauty Therapy Apprentice, you’ll assist Senior Therapists and learn a range of skills and techniques, such as how to improve facial skin conditions, wax body hair, spray tan, shape and colour brows, perform hand and foot treatments and apply make-up.

On the Advanced Level Apprenticeship, you’ll work as a Beauty Therapist, learning techniques like body massage as well as more complicated electronic treatments to remove unwanted hair or improve skin condition.

Entry requirements

Most occupations require a minimum of grade C in English, Maths and ICT, although some only require a minimum of grade D.

Some occupations within the Engineering sector will require Science at a minimum of grade C.

A Vocational Assessment may have to be taken and passed for some Apprenticeships before acceptance onto the programme.

Assessment

Training is delivered on a day release basis at the Institute’s working salon where a
Tutor will assess and monitor your progress.
