Carpentry and Joinery Intermediate Apprenticeship at Warrington & Vale Royal College
This Apprenticeship is an excellent doorway in to becoming a joinery professional with the benefits of earning while you’re learning. Site joinery involves fitting timber roofs, floors, windows and doors on a range of on-site locations. This qualification is recognised throughout the industry and could lead to progression onto level 3.
You will complete a framework of study involving:
- NVQ level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations - Site Carpentry
- Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry
- Employee rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
- Functional Skills level 1 Maths and English
Assessment will be continuous throughout the programme and will consist of a combination of practical assessments on site and in college. Related knowledge tests for your diploma of evidence and external H&S tests. Work based evidence (in the form of a portfolio) and on-site assessments will be carried out by a competent assessor to complete your framework. External tests are on-line computer based examinations for all areas of assessment. The course is for two years and you will attend college one day per week.
