Sport, Level 3 CAMTEC Sub Diploma at Oldham Sixth Form College (OSFC)

Course description

The subject would appeal to those students who:

  • Have a real interest and passion for sport and want to learn and understand more about the different facets and career options that lie within it.
  • Study a variety of disciplines within a sporting context eg. Coaching, Teaching, Business and Event management.

Throughout the two years you will cover a wide and varied programme encompassing the full spectrum of topics related to Sport and Physical Activity, from Anatomy and Physiology to Work Experience, Sports injury Management to Sports Psychology. You will have the opportunity to participate in a range of trips including Paris and Bolton Arena. The college also works with the Oldham’s school partnership to offer opportunities to develop as a coach and leader.


Course content

Year 1

Level 3 Diploma Equivalent to 2 A Levels

7 units to complete including: Sports Psychology & Principles of Anatomy & Physiology in Sport.

Year 2

6 units to complete including: Organising Sports Events & Athletes Lifestyle.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 passes (above C or 4) at GCSE, including at least a 4 in Maths and English.

Level 2 vocational qualifications can count as one or two of the five GCSE passes.
