Textiles at Cheam High School
Textiles is a design and theory based subject that allows students to develop creative skills in fashion or interior design. The aim is to build on skills and knowledge previously learnt through the GCSE subject.
You love textiles. from clothes to curtains and from upholstery to bedspreads, there’s something about the look and feel of textiles that appeals to you. You would like a career that includes textiles. Perhaps as a textile designer, seeing your unique designs woven into the fabric of life. or maybe as an interior designer or clothes designer. Whatever your relationship with textiles, this exciting and challenging course will help you understand more about textiles than you ever thought possible. Textiles A Level gives you the opportunity to develop your capacity to design and make products and to appreciate the complex relations between design, materials, manufacture and marketing. The subject will enable you to take a broad view of design and technology and to develop a wide range of skills, including working with others, thinking creatively and making quality products.
GCSE grade C in english and maths and (if taken) Textiles.
