A Level: Further Mathematics at Wreake Valley Sixth Form
At AS you will be studying three modules. One in Pure Maths, which gives you a taste of the power of Mathematics and two modules in Decision Maths, which involves planning strategies.
For A2 you will again study three modules, comprising one in Pure Maths which extends your work from AS Level and modules in both Mechanics and Statistics, giving a broad spectrum of experience.

Two Optional choices from
To join the Sixth Form there is an entry requirement of 5 good passes at GCSE (at least a C or a grade 4). This must include English and / or Maths at a grade 4.
There are additional entry criteria for Literature, Maths, and Science subjects.
Maths requires at least a grade 5 from the Higher tier paper.
Three x 2 hour papers sat at the end of Year 13.
- Paper 1 - Pure Mathematics.
- Paper 2 - Pure Mathematics.
- Paper 3 - Two papers one on each of your chosen options.
There is no coursework in this A Level.

Further Maths is now becoming an entry requirement at many universities for a widening variety of subjects. The Russell Group of Universities lists Further Mathematics as a faciliating subject.
