Mathematics A Level at Kemnal Technology College
This is a full A-level course made up of 6 modules covered over 2 years. Each year students study 3 modules with the following qualification available at the end of the year - AS level (year 12) and A level (year 13). Each year counts for 50% of the final total in year 13.
Students will develop an understanding of mathematics and mathematical processes, develop the ability to reason logically and construct mathematical proofs, and understand coherence and progression in mathematics and how different areas of mathematics can be connected.
Students in year 12 study Core 1, Core 2 and Statistics 1. You will be are expected to attend all lessons, complete homework tasks when set and purchase the necessary resources such as textbooks and a graphic calculator.
In year 13 students study Core 3, Core 4 and Mechanics 1. Year 13 provides a deeper challenge and is a chance to explore new and/ or more sophisticated mathematical concepts.
B in Maths GCSE and pass Summer entrance exam.
