Football Academy - Sport BTEC National at Bedford Academy

Course description

Our Elite Football Academy will focus on your development as a coach, a player and a leader. You will join a select group of students in representing the school at regional and national level, receive high quality coaching and develop your expertise in the coaching and officiating of others. You will be prepared for a career in the sports industry and graduates from the football academy will have a high status in the sporting community.

Course content

Students who embark on the course can expect to cover a wide range of sports related to the football world. Students will look at sports nutrition, fitness training, and programmingm techincal and tactical skills in sport, the athletes lifestyle, sports injuries and the physiology of fitness. Students will also look at skill development and retention modules that will be delivered in line with the practical element.

Assessment

Level 3 BTEC courses are assessed on coursework assignments that are internally marked and externally moderated. There are no exams.

Future opportunities

Sport is a growth industry with numerous career opportunities. AS well as careers in participation and links to professional clubs there are a range of possibilities including coaching, physiotherpay, sports psychology, events management and PE teaching. Students completing the course successfully may decide to undertake further study in sport/leisure related courses at University.
