Music BTEC Level 2 First Diploma at West Herts College
The music industry isn’t all TV talent show auditions. There’s a multitude of long-term career opportunities, all of them as creatively rewarding and focused on performing.
Join us and you’ll have the the chance to excel individually and also as part of a group. Following a thorough introduction to the vocational study of music, you can look forward to developing a professional approach to all aspects of the industry.
Whether your talent is in performing or production, we can focus your thoughts and develop your talents.
Core subjects include:
Instrumental tuition (bass, drums, vox, guitar)
A range of recordings
Music sequencing and composing
Developing music theory
We offer a mix of practical and written work, preparing you for the future, whether that’s straight into work or further study at Level 3 (where you can specialise in either music performance or music production).
In addition, you’ll take part in GAP work experience and improve your English and maths skills in a practical setting.
3 GCSEs (A*-D) including English, or Level 1 Diploma, you’ll also need to provide evidence of your interest in creating music. You will also be required to attend a course introduction meeting.
Successful completion opens the door to the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma inMusic Practice or Music Technology. Possible careers include music performer, sound engineer, songwriter, producer and music teacher.
