Course description

Fabrication and Welding Intermediate Apprenticeship for candidates new to this field. Areas covered; Sheet Metal Work, Plate work, Mig, Mag, Tig etc.

Course content

You will undertake an NVQ in Fabrication and Welding, Technical Certificate, Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT, Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).

Entry requirements

Ideally GCSE Grade C and above (or equivalent) Maths, English and Science. Other engineering qualifications will be considered.

Assessment

You will complete an NVQ portfolio of evidence, Technical Certificate on day release complete course work and take paper/practical tests & exams. Functional skills will be assessed thorugh portfolio of evidence, online tests and discussion.

Financial information

Those individuals aged 16 to 18 will be eligible for full programme funding, those aged 19+ will be part-funded.

Future opportunities

Candidates achieving all goals set will have the opportunity to progress to an advanced apprenticeship if their role has developed sufficiently and their skills evolve.
