Health and Social Care AS/A2 at Rednock School

Course description

 The AS/A Level courses in Health & Social Care allows students to build skills as well as technical knowledge. It gives them a broad base of understanding whilst allowing them also to focus on the four specialist areas:

  • Health
  • Early Years (Care and Education)
  • Care of Older People
  • Individuals with Specific Needs 

AS UNITS

Unit 1 Human Growth and Development (externally assessed)
Unit 2 Communication and Values (internally assessed)
Unit 3 Positive Care Environments (internally assessed)
 
A2 UNITS
Unit 7 Meeting Individual Needs (externally assessed)
Unit 8 Promoting Health and Wellbeing (internally assessed)
Unit 9 Investigating Disease (internally assessed)

Entry requirements

A candidate is expected to have passed 5 GCSE subjects at grades A*-C or an appropriate intermediate level course.
