Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities - CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (QCF) at Calderdale College
This Level 2 qualification in supporting individuals with learning disabilities. The units offered, mirror those offered within the learning disability pathways of the Health & Social Care diplomas. This course is suitable for people aged 16 - 18 years and those aged 19 and over.
This qualification provides opportunity to develop knowledge and skills around supporting learners with learning disabilities with continued professional development opportunities, there is a provision to develop skills and knowledge to enable learners to provide a high quality person centred approach to support.
Various teaching methods are used including classroom activities, reflective logs and assessment in the workplace.
Learners must be 16 years and above and school leavers will need 4 GCSEs at least a D grade including English language. They will also need to be completing a work placement in a childcare/health & social care setting. You will also need to provide 2 references and complete a CRB check.
You will be invited to an interview with a specialist tutor, which will give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have in regards to the course.
The course is unit based and assessed using a variety of methods, including written assignments plus assessments in the workplace.
This course is free for students aged 16 - 18 year olds. For students who are aged 19 and over this will be a Full Cost Recovery course and there will be no fee remissions available.
Learners who successfully complete this course can progress on to the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
