Wood - Construction Skills Level 3 Diploma Joinery at Calderdale College
This is a practical and theory based course which consists of the student/candidate working through a number of work related units following either a bench joinery or a site carpentry route.

This qualification is based solely on site in your chosen trade area. As this is an advanced qualification you will be required to study to a high level in either Bench or Site Joinery:
- Design and make curved structures
- Make a range of complex windows
- Construct a complex staircases
There are many other aspects that you will need to complete as part of the qualification. The above units are a combination of Site and Bench. At Level 3 you will choose one route and stay with it for the duration of the whole qualification. Some of the above are mandatory units and others are optional. More information will be available at enrolment.
Applicants should hold an NVQ2 in Wood Occupations or a level 2 diploma.
Assessment by observation, questioning and practical phase test.
In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived. Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.
All successful students may have the opportunity to
progress onto NVQ Level 3 Joinery through the work based
evidence route. Employment opportunities could include an
Apprenticeship in your chosen trade area.
