Acting - Acting TV & Film (Year 1) - Level 3 at North Kent College

Course description

The UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts (Acting TV/Film) is a brand new unique two-year training programme here at The Miskin Theatre.

Actors will collaborate closely with those on other Miskin programmes and work under intense conditions to learn the skills and discipline that their craft demands. Actors will perform in both stage plays and short films. The blend of the film acting focus with the critical foundations of stage technique will help the actor develop the skills and knowledge that are required in the industry.

Some of the areas covered throughout the course are- Movement, Voice, Acting for camera, Acting for the theatre, Improvisation and Audition Technique.

The Miskin will support you in becoming a well-trained, clear-thinking performer ready to take your first steps into the industry. You will also develop the skills that all employers are looking for, including team work, self-confidence, communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to meet targets.

This Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and maths skills as required. You will be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

All assignments are modelled on professional practice, learners will also have the opportunity to participate in work experience including Front of House.

5 GCSE (A-C Grades) or equivalent. (inc English and Maths)

The course is production based and operates out of the Miskin Theatre

Tuition Fees: 16-18 - free

19+ Advanced Learning Loan - £TBC

Exam and Registration Fees (payable by all aged 19 and over): £165 Other Costs (payable by all students): £75 Annual Theatre Pass
