Course description

The subject content is studied within a number of contemporary contexts.
At AS Level these include:

* Stem Cells
* Coursework project on the conservation of endangered species.

At A2 Level students move onto to look at Biology from the perspectives of:
* Forensic Science
* Climate Change
* Exercise Physiology
* Brain Development

This is combined with a field-work residential to the beaches of Northern Ireland to complete the A2 coursework. GCE Biology is a very hands-on course, with a large practical element, designed to develop the skills used by Biologists in a variety of real-world situations. The course has been delivered in new purpose built science laboratories at Bramcote College from September 2009.
