IT BTEC Level 3 Diploma at Landau Forte Sixth Form College

Course description

The purpose of the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT is to prepare learners to become occupationally ready to take up employment in the IT sector and aspects of the creative industries at the appropriate level. This can follow either directly after achieving the qualification, or via the stepping stone of Higher Education in university or college. By studying a BTEC, learners develop knowledge, understanding and skills required by the sector, including essential employability skills, and apply them in real work contexts.

Entry requirements

ICT/Applied ICT GCSE A* - C / ICT OCR National or DIDA or CIDA or BTEC First Merit – Distinction and a C grade in English. Students who have not studied ICT previously may be considered. A C grade in GCSE Maths is preferred.

Future opportunities

Students interested in working in the IT or creative industry, for example computer games development, and/or students looking to study the subject in higher education.
