Spanish at Plume College

Course description

The course extends naturally from the skills developed at GCSE. Approximately equal emphasis is placed on each of the linguistic skills, Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, both at AS and A2 Level, together with the acquisition of knowledge about the contemporary culture and society of Spain and countries or communities where Spanish is spoken.

At AS Level, students will develop an understanding of the spoken and written forms of Spanish and develop positive attitudes to foreign language learning. Students will be encouraged to communicate more confidently through spoken and written means. They will also increase their knowledge of the contemporary society and cultural background of countries or communities where Spanish is spoken.

At A2 Level, students will further their knowledge of the language and culture of Spain and will increase both their fluency and accuracy. They will develop their use of complex and varied language in different contexts. In addition, students will develop their translation skills from and into French and English.
