Mathematics A-Level at Freman College

Course description

If you enjoy problem solving and like to know if you are right, then you will probably enjoy A-level Maths!

The course will build on and develop techniques students have learnt at GCSE to acquire the fluency required for advanced work. You will study algebra, geometry, polynomials, trigonometry, calculus and mechanics.

Course content

Mathematics is a course which you can either choose to study as a full A-level, or as an AS-level (taught just in Year 12) alongside three full A-levels. AS Maths would be a valuable additional qualification for many students who wish to study sciences at A-level, and is required for anyone studying A-level Physics.

Entry requirements

Grade B or above in GCSE Maths. Students must have covered the higher tier course at GCSE. The entry requirement for AS Mathematics is the same as for the full A-level.
