GCSE Geography at Nether Stowe School

Course description

The OCR GCSE Geography syllabus is over 4 units:

Unit 1: Rivers and Coasts

Unit 2: Population and Settlement

Unit 3: Natural Hazards

Unit 4: Economic Development 

Entry requirements

Optional Course - discussion with subject Teacher

Assessment

Assessment will be as follows:

50% Terminal Examination

25% Sustainable Decision Making Exercise

25% Controlled Assessment - Fieldwork Focus

 

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in Geography or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to geography such as a Weather Forecaster, Teacher or Travel Agent You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
