ICT at The Priory CofE Voluntary Aided School

Course description

ICT involves studying what information and communication systems can be used for and how they can solve problems. You learn about hardware and software, the effect of new technology on the world and how to present work using ICT.

Future opportunities

This short course offers you a specialist qualification for working in areas of Information, Communication and Technology . It could lead onto other vocational qualifications such as a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in ICT or an NVQ or Apprenticeship programmes in IT Practitioners. With further training, you could go into a job related to ICT such as a IT Technician or Software Developer. You will also find this qualification useful for entering a range of careers. The course also provides you with the basic ICT knowledge, understanding and skills that many employers are looking for. You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in ICT or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to ICT such as a Web Designer, IT Technician or Software Programmer. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
