Course description

For anyone with an interest in studio recording, the Subsidiary Diploma in Music Technology (Production) is a two-year qualification featuring a total of six units that are assessed through coursework and practical activities. It is the equivalent of one A Level.

The college has two recording studios capable of recording up to sixteen tracks of simultaneous audio, a multimedia suite featuring industry-standard Pro Tools 10 recording software and a professional theatre for drama and music productions.

Successful students will have a keen interest in music, either as a performer or consumer. Experience of music software sequencing or recording is desirable but not essential.
All students will record, produce and master a complete audio recording. You will develop your knowledge of music sequencing software and the transferable skills that facilitate the realisation of musical ideas in both audio and MIDI environments. You will develop the skills to set up, use and discuss sequencing systems and techniques. You will train your ears to listen and analyse audio subjectively and competently.
