Health & Social Care BTEC Level 3 Diploma at West Herts College
Health and Social Care is a rewarding profession which provides you with the opportunity to care for others and make a positive difference to people’s lives.
This academic course is a recognised entry qualification into university and has been designed specifically for those who have an interest in nursing or heathcare.
During your course you will study a wide range of subjects:
Developing effective communication within health and social care
Sociological and psychological perspectives
Fundamentals of anatomy and physiology
Research methodology for health and social care
Caring for children and young people
You will also study English, maths and science alongside your studies and take part in GAP work placement opportunities to help you progress to work or university.
4 GCSEs (A*-C) in English and maths, science is also preferable, or Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care. You will need to complete a DBS check and attend a course introduction meeting.
Progress onto university or further training and your career prospects will include nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and teaching to name a few.
