Accounting (L3) AAT Advanced Diploma at Weymouth College

Course description

The course is for students who have successfully completed the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, or who are exempt from this stage, and wish to further develop their knowledge and/or progress to the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (L4).

Course content

There are specified units which make up the key roles of the accounting occupation at this level. These units are as follows; Advanced Book keeping Final Accounts Preparation Costing Indirect Tax Further details to the content and syllabus for each of these units can be obtained from the AAT website (www.aat.org.uk) You will need a great deal of commitment, and will be expected undertake additional work as well as that done during college classes (on average 3 to 6 hours per week).

Entry requirements

Completion of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. In certain circumstances students who have other relevant qualifications at Level 2 or above and/or have worked in an accounting environment may start at this level. These students will be required to get agreement from the Course Tutor and complete an online assessment.

Assessment

You are required to successfully complete a Computer Based Assessment for each unit detailed above, plus a Synoptic Assessment at the end of the year.

Future opportunities

Progress on to the Professional Diploma in Accounting (L4).
