BTEC National Sub-Diploma/ Diploma Level 3 in Production at Clacton County High School
If you like theatre but do not like to perform then Production is for you. Production allows you to explore various areas of theatre and develop your skills and interests. You can work as part of a team whilst developing your independent working skills. You will cover various topics before settling on your favourite or strongest aspect.
“This assignment will certainly challenge the learners and provide them with the opportunity to explore and develop their production skills.” - Edexcel Standards Verifier.
Students are encouraged to work outside of class time to contribute towards the completion of a school production. Whilst this is not compulsory students experience a wider knowledge of their chosen job role and gain the opportunity to develop team work skills if they choose to do so.
Many students successfully operate as an independent production team seeking advice from staff rather than being given instructions.
Production is a coursework only subject.
The Subsidiary Diploma consists of six units in total, two of which are core units and four optional units selected by the subject tutor and students. Students are given the opportunity to explore various job roles within the theatre industry demonstrating practical skills alongside gathering portfolio evidence.
