Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Apprenticeship at CT Skills

Course description

This programme is designed for young people working 30 hours week or more in a teaching assistant or classroom assistant setting. This is an Apprenticeship so you earn as you learn. skills and knowledge that you apply in the work place can be used as evidence towards your qualification. An assessor will work with you through one to one sessions, small group session and observations to support your development in the role. this framework covers roles including:

· Classroom preparation

· One to one tutorials with children

· Supervising classes

· Child & Young Person Development

· Safeguarding the Welfare of Children & Young People

· Communication & Professional Relationships with Children, Young People & Adults

· Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in Work with Children & Young People

· Help Improve Own & Team Practice in Schools

· Maintain & Support Relationships with Children & Young People

· Support Children & Young People’s Health & Safety

· Support Children & Young People’s Positive Behaviour

· Support Learning Activities

Key information

  • Start date: Throughout the year
  • Duration: Training and assessment mostly takes place in the workplace. There will also be some classroom-based work. You can learn at your own pace (within reason) but it usually takes about two years.
