Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Level 2 at Warwickshire College Group

Course description

This course is designed for students who have already completed the Level 1 Maintenance and repair course and wish to continue their motor vehicle studies on a full time basis, to enhance their skills and knowledge. This course runs two and half days a week.

Course content

Health and Safety

Vehicle Electrics

Suspension and Steering

Brakes

Engines Ignition and Cooling

Transmission Systems

Fuel and Exhaust Systems

Functional Skills or GCSE in Maths and English

Entry requirements

Level 1 Diploma in a related subject or pre-motor vehicle experience.  A Minimum of 3 GCSE's at Grade D / Grade 3 to include English and Mathematics.

Assessment

The units listed previously are all assessed practically and will require each learner to produce a logbook/portfolio of evidence. In addition to this theoretical assessments.

Balance of theory and practical

Functional Skills will also be delivered and assessed during the course.

50% practical and 50% theory.

Future opportunities

If you are successful on this course you will be able to find employment in vehicle maintenance and repair as an apprentice and continue studying towards your Level 3
