Course content

The course you will follow will develop a range of practical skills and will build upon the work done at GCSE.  There is still an emphasis on using languages for communication but in addition the quality of your ideas and your skills of reasoning in the target language will also gain credit.

Entry requirements

You will have achieved a grade B at GCSE

Assessment

Year 12 - All assessments in June
Assessment 1 - Speaking
Assessment 2 - Listening, Reading and Writing
Assessment 3 - Reading and Writing

Year 13 - All assessments in June
Assessment 4 - Speaking and Reading
Assessment 5 - Reading, Listening and Writing
Assessment 6 - Written Coursework on a subject of your choice

In class you will be using all sorts of up to date materials - tapes, videos, newspapers, magazines, fiction etc.  You will be expected to listen regularly to French radio in your own time.
