Financial Capability *FEES PAYABLE* at St Mary's Senior School
Leaving education and starting to live independently brings many challenges for young people, as they need to learn to juggle the many bills which have to be paid as well as dealing with banks, utility bills and mobile phone companies - often for the first time. This course builds on the work completed in the Fourth and Fifth Forms and aims to equip pupils with the financial skills they will need to manage their own finances whilst at university and beyond. It includes workshops on student finance, budgeting, insurance, pensions, pay slips, mortgages, saving and borrowing. Aims of the Course • To increase knowledge and understanding about debt, borrowing, budgeting and saving. • To increase financial capability by developing relevant skills. • To develop key skills including communication, numeracy, ICT and problem solving. • To develop positive values and attitudes towards finance and risk management.
It is expected that you will achieve an A Grade at GCSE in the subjects that you wish to continue to AS Level.
If you are joining us for Sixth Form from another school we require that you achieve at least six A Grades and above at GCSE Level.
