Course description

An Advanced Apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage is suitable for you if you are interested in working in the warehousing, transport and logistics sector. 

Warehousing operatives fulfil a variety of tasks including loading/unloading and selecting, packing and dispatching orders

Course content

The Advanced Apprenticeship programme requires achievement of the following qualifications:

  • NVQ in Warehousing (Level 3)

  • Certificate in Warehousing Knowledge ( Level 3)

  • Functional Skills in Maths and English (Level 2)

  • Recognition of Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

  • Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities

Entry requirements

  • All learners starting an Intermediate Apprenticeship programme must be employed in the relevant vocational area at the start of their programme and have supervisory responsibilities. 
  • An offer may be made subject to successful Initial Basic Skills Assessment which demonstrates at least working towards Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy. 
  • If the learner is assessed at below this level, an offer may be made on condition that the learner attends support workshops to achieve the required skills level.

Assessment

The NVQ qualification is continuously assessed through evidence from workplace activities and the building of a portfolio of evidence. 

Other elements of the course are assessed via successful achievement of workbooks and examinations.

Future opportunities

Successful completion of the programme will provide a platform from which to pursue flexible routes into employment and/or higher level vocational qualifications.
