Product Design: 3D at The Brunts Academy

Course description

Product Design is a stimulating and interesting way of looking at everyday products around us, how they are made, what materials are used and why they look like they do. It looks at the very important role designers have in society as everything we use has been designed by a 'Product Designer'.

A-level Design and Technology: Product Design (3-D) helps students take a broad view of design and technology, develop their capacity to design and make products and appreciate the complex relations between design, materials, manufacture and marketing.

Entry requirements

You should be self-motivated and enjoy both the design and manufacture of objects.

You will need good graphic and manufacturing skills.

You should enjoy and be good at planning your own learning, problem solving, working with others, and spoken communication.

The following are also quite important: the use of information technology, and the ability to express your ideas in writing.
